Don’t forget to celebrate

It has been a fantastic week back in Australia. It is hard to believe a week has gone by since the CWG Marathon. To see Lac’s smiling face at the airport was an amazing feeling. Then dinner at my sister’s with the family was the perfect return to Melbourne. Cuddles and photos with Tom and cake with pink icing! I arrived at work to a desk full of balloons and posters and my wonderful work friends all eager to hear about the adventures of the Games. When asked how I was feeling I said “a bit sore, but I should be fine as long as we don’t have a fire drill, given we’re on the 23rd flr”. Little did I know that on Friday we were going to have a real fire, in which I had to tackle going down 23 flights of stairs… be careful what you say!

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Australian Sports Hall Of Fame evening where I saw David Parkin get inducted, a very special friend and sporting great. Drinks with friends last night, brunch with Schmiddy, dinner with Emma and Matty and Sophie’s first birthday party this weekend topped off the celebrations. It can be hard to remember to take time to relax and reflect on the things we’ve done well and those we’d like to change. Don’t forget to celebrate!
