Athletes Commission for Athletics Australia

Friday, November 26th, 2010

It is with great pleasure that I accepted the position as Chair of the Australian Athletes Commission this week. I am looking forward to the opportunity to make a positive impact on athletics as an Athletics Australia Board member, ensuring athlete interests are aligned to AA strategic objectives. I hope that my background as a Senior Managing Consultant at IBM will ensure my contributions help grow our sport in the coming years.

The Athletes Commission for Athletics Australia was reformed in 2007. The role of the Athletes Commission is to provide a link between the athletes, the Board of Directors and Athletics Australia. Athletes selected to the Athletes Commission hold office for a term of four years.

Current members of the Athletes Commission are as follows:
* Lisa Weightman (Chair)
* Bronwyn Thompson (Jumps representative, Previous Chair)
* Luke Adams (Vice Chair; Distance Running and Walking Advisory Committee representative)
* Justin Anlezark (Throws representative)
* Clinton Hill (Sprints and Relays representative)
* Sarah Jamieson (International Tours Advisory Committee representative)
* Katrina Webb (Paralympic representative)
* Kylie Wheeler (Coaching Advisory Committee representative)
* Scott Westcott (Distance Running/Marathon representative)

If you have suggestions to improve our sport or would like the Athletes Commission to address a concern you have, get in touch with a member or contact me via the following link: Email Lisa Weightman.
